Samsca treatment should be initiated and re-initiated in a hospital setting to monitor serum sodium levels. It is not recommended for patients with polycystic kidney disease outside of a specific program that includes liver monitoring. Avoid taking Samsca with grapefruit juice or alcoholic beverages as they can increase side effects.
