Humulin 30/70 Vial Drug Info (Pack with 1 x 10 mL Vial)

  • OVERVIEW

Humulin 30/70 Vial contains a mixture of 2 different ingredients, 30% Humalin R and 70% Humalin N. Humulin R is a short acting insulin called “Regular” insulin and Humulin N is an intermediate acting insulin called insulin isophane, otherwise known as NPH. The combination of short and intermediate acting insulin can cover your blood sugar control needs after meals, throughout the day, and at nighttime.

  • HOW IT WORKS?

Humulin 30/70 mix has a method of action similar to that of naturally occurring insulin. It begins to work approximately 30 to 60 minutes after administration, has its maximum effect between 2 and 8 hours after injection, and it stops working in the ranges of 18 to 24 hours later.

The onset and duration of action comes from the mix of both Regular insulin (Humulin R) and isophane insulin (Humulin N). Regular insulin is a short acting insulin that begins working within 30 minutes and is active for about 5 to 8 hours, while insulin isophane (NPH) is an intermediate–acting insulin that starts to work within 90 minutes, peaks around about 6 to 10 hours and lasts approximately 24 hours.

  • DOSAGE

Always follow the health advice of your doctor or other healthcare professional.

When taking Humulin 30/70, you may be required to modify your dosage from what you used to take with other insulins. If you need a dose modification, it may occur with the first dose or during the first few weeks or months.
